Ingredient Database:Simple Definition:
Also known as ascorbic acid. Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin that can be synthesized in the body by most animals (with a few exceptions, including humans, that need to get it from their diet).
Vitamin C is best known for being needed to make collagen (for connective tissue), and for deficiencies causing scurvy.
Ferrets likely don't need supplementation for this vitamin, as it is only known to be needed for some select primates, rodents, bats, fish and birds. It can however work as a natural preservative so its presence in a food may still serve some purpose
